Even though I’ve been in Tbilisi for six weeks, it is only the city’s surface that I can display for now: cracks of crumbling old houses, patterns of the Soviet-era estates, and new buildings for the new economy. These layers illustrate how urban landscapes change over time.
There are many architectural landmarks around the city. But after the latest burst of travelling, I need a break—closing the Istanbul chapter to start a new one in Tbilisi. I will be here all through autumn and winter to explore more anyway. Speaking of autumn, this time of the year is wine harvest season. I’ll tap into that.
