Three months on the street by itself, it’d been through an election campaign, sitting under the tree, next to cars and stuff, buried in piles of autumn leaves, and forgotten in the rain and snow. Hmmm, why do I empathise?
This mask was the one I documented from the start to the end of its journey. It was in the corner of Lamont St and 17th St in Mount Pleasant, 21 October – 28 December 2020, just before I left Washington DC.
Fast forward to February 2021, even though there were a fair amount of masks lying around in the streets of Bangkok, they didn’t stand out enough for me to engage with. And my focus has shifted to other commitments. These were ones found in the month.
